The Mary Lee Greason Award is bestowed upon a past or current Arizona REALTORS® Professional Standards Committee member who exhibits a passion for professional standards through exceptional service, commitment, preparation, and leadership. Specific factors to be considered include length of service, roles in leadership positions, diversity of roles within the Professional Standards Committee, and contributions made.

This year’s recipient was Duane Fouts.

Since joining the Professional Standards Committee, Duane has chaired 37 hearings and served as a Mediator or Ombudsman 13 times. Scott Drucker, Arizona REALTORS® CEO stated, “For many years, Duane Fouts has been instrumental in the success of the Arizona REALTORS® Professional Standards program. He has an easy and comfortable demeanor as a hearing panelist and chair, all while ensuring that due process is afforded to both parties. Duane elevates everyone with his passion for the Code of Ethics and commitment to professionalism. I think that Duane Fouts is a very worthy recipient of the Mary Lee Greason Excellence in Professional Standards award and I’m proud to call him my friend.”

Marge Lindsay shared, “What a wonderful decision it was for the Arizona REALTORS® to recognize Duane Fouts as the recipient of the 2022 Mary Lee Greason Professional Standards Award. Duane has worked hard to obtain, and retain, a wonderful reputation on local, state, and national association levels. He is not only knowledgeable, but he is willing to share that knowledge and experience with anyone needing advice, assistance, guidance, or direction. He’s always willing to chair panels or serve as a panelist on cases brought before the Professional Standards Committee by the public or other REALTORS®. Duane exemplifies the best of the best. I’m proud to know him and work with him. Arizona can stand very proud.”

Holly Eslinger added, “I have had the pleasure of working with Duane as 2010 AAR President and he was 2011 President of AAR. I know Duane to be the most helpful designated broker with new members. His kind and thoughtful words with everyone make him my shining star. When you talk to his agents, they all say glowing comments about his leadership.”

Duane’s son, Kyle Fouts stated, “I was so proud to hear that my dad was this year’s honoree for the Mary Lee Greason Award. I can’t help but feel a deep sense of pride for him. For the past 30 plus years he’s dedicated his life to the world of real estate, building a career that’s not only been successful but distinguished. He’s worked tirelessly to maintain the same level of excellence everywhere he’s been, and I think that his agents would tell you the same. I remember growing up, and still to this day, my dad would work long hours always taking agents calls when help was needed, but he never missed the events my sister and I had going on. He managed to balance his work life with his family, and I’ve always looked up to him for that. I try to employ the same balance in my life today with my wife and kids because I still remember how much it meant to me then. Throughout his career, my dad has earned a reputation for his professionalism and integrity. He’s accomplished so much in this industry he loves, and I know that this award will be very near the top for him. He truly exemplifies excellence in professional standards and has taught me so much about what that truly means. In all of his decisions and counsel, it is his guiding light. As I reflect on my dad’s career, I am in awe of what he’s accomplished and am so inspired by his path. He has shown me what can be done with hard work, determination, and a genuine passion for what you do. I’m so proud. Congratulations and here’s to the next 30 years!”

Needless to say, Duane is a worthy recipient of the Mary Lee Greason Award.
