Arizona Housing Fund
To help address the problem of homelessness in the Grand Canyon State, Arizona REALTORS have joined with the Arizona Community Foundation to promote the Arizona Housing Fund.
The Arizona Housing Fund is a dedicated-sustainable funding source for nonprofit agencies that build and operate permanent supportive, low-income, and working poor housing units. Your donation will build more affordable housing to meet the community’s growing needs and reduce homelessness.
Give clients the opportunity to join in the fight against homelessness
The goal of the Arizona REALTORS® is to give every buyer and seller the opportunity to voluntarily donate $25 (or more) to the Arizona Housing Fund at close of escrow to combat homelessness. All it takes is for you to ask your client to complete a simple one-page Escrow Donation Form and send it to the escrow company. The Escrow Company will distribute the donation to the Arizona Housing Fund at close of escrow.
Here is a sample email you can customize and send to your clients after the Inspection Period if you decide that is the best way to approach it:

Recent studies indicate a substantial rise in Arizona’s homelessness, especially among low-income families, seniors and vulnerable populations. Stabilizing people through shelter is a proven solution, but cities and towns throughout Arizona are facing a critical shortage of safe, decent, affordable for-rent and for-purchase housing, especially among low-income families, seniors and vulnerable populations.
The unique program distributes grants to nonprofit agencies with a proven track record of building and operating permanent, supportive or low-income housing units. In these short videos, Howard Epstein talks about the program and how REALTORS® can get involved.
Homelessness can impact anyone. As REALTORS we help people find a place to call home, but for an increasing number of Arizonans, facing the harsh reality of homelessness can happen for a number of reasons.
